A home that floats on the water is a houseboat. So, is a boat that sits on dry land and acts like a building a boathouse? Perhaps.
Here are some buildings that are shaped like boats — perfect for getting that nautical feel without horrible seasickness.
The Museum of Maritime Science in Tokyo looks, naturally, like a huge ship. It was modeled after the British ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2, and features seagoing exhibits like an icebreaker and a cannon from a World War II battleship.
The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is also, fittingly, shaped like a boat, but this one is a little smaller. The museum is free, and boasts some of the best views of the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.
The Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht in Jeongdongjin, South Korea, is built to look like a huge cruise ship that ran aground and somehow ended up on a cliff. It's 541 feet long and 148 feet tall, and boasts 211 rooms, volleyball court, and a fitness club.
