Pools inside luxury apartment complexes are usually pretty standard: A narrow pool will stretch several dozen feet, lined with rows of lounge chairs. Sometimes, there's an adjoining bar or jacuzzi.

But SHoP Architect's new Sky Bridge will take pool design to the next level.

Linking two residential skyscrapers in Manhattan, the three-story glass bridge will let people swim in a pool suspended 300 feet in the air.

Set to open in 2017, the complex and the bridge are still in construction.

Keep scrolling to take a look at the design.

The 100-foot-long bridge will be a part of American Copper Buildings' two towers at 626 First Avenue in Manhattan.

The complex will overlook the East River and offer views of the Empire State Building. Here's a recent photo from the construction.

There will be floor-to-ceiling windows, so residents will be able to see as far as Long Island while they swim, the SHoP team tells Tech Insider in an email.
