China's knockoff version of Venice cost $8 billion to build

This development project in the city of Dalian in China looks exactly like Venice. It has canals, Italian architecture, and even frescoes that look like Italy’s.

The city even recently started offering gondola rides as a tourist attraction. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was knockoff Venice — this whole project took four years to build, and cost $8 billion.
